Legacy Day 2025 brought the Jasper community together for another evening of celebration, history and connection. Lovely spring weather set the scene for over 340 attendees to enjoy the vibrant space outside the J Club.
Music and mingling
Laughter and conversation intertwined with the fantastic tunes of Flashback. The band’s combination of classic rock and upbeat grooves was a hit yet again. From “Brown Eyed Girl” to “La Grange”, their tunes had feet tapping, heads nodding, and impromptu dancing. Friends of all ages gathered on the lawn and patio, catching up and enjoying the community spirit. Even as the colorful hues of sunset covered the grounds, the crowd continued the festivities.
Honoring Jasper Gems
At the heart of Jasper are the remarkable people who make it come alive. Executive director Marlo Dykeman, along with amenity and engagement manager Aaron Serdar, invited honorees onto the stage to don their commemorative Gem hats. This year we recognized:
- Vietnam War veteran and founder of Veterans Coffee Club, Johnnie Griffitts
- Generous and talented quilter, Jamie Davis
- Leadership expert, Ashley Ivey
- Samba Club connector, Maggie Schultz
- Not featured:
- Yavapai Food Neighbors Project coordinators, Catherine Barns and
Gregory Wong

Jasper’s future is rooted in its history, and this event was a wonderful reminder of those cherished values. Every year is a new chance to remember the past and embrace the community’s growth.
Timeless photo fun
The vintage photo booth captured smiles in a spectacular fashion. Families, groups and couples all lined up to create their unique Legacy Day portraits. From silly glasses to stylish hats, the amusing props and charming camper-style studio produced fabulous souvenirs that will live on as part of their own Jasper story.
Tropical tastes
Superb Food Company brought the flavor with a Hawaiian-inspired menu that hit all the right notes. The Kalua pork, passion fruit punch and pineapple upside–down cake were a few flavorful favorites. The bright flavors complemented the event’s lively atmosphere – fresh and fun.
