Anyone can find themselves in need of support. Jasper Leadership Class 1 originally set out to create a centralized resource hub to help residents connect with essential services. When they discovered MoHelp.org — a one-stop library of resources — they pivoted their mission to amplifying awareness of this valuable tool. From animal services to work resources, the site connects you with organizations ready to help.
We asked project leaders Jeff Swain, Jamie Brown, Jimmy Stevens, and Rod Manion to share more about MoHelp.org and why spreading the word is so important.
What inspired you to take this on as your Jasper Leadership project?
Jeff and Jamie met two families struggling to find help with basic needs. They saw how challenging it was to search through multiple agencies – often leading to a frustrating goose chase. They wanted to create a simpler, faster way for those in vulnerable situations to get the support they need.
What is MoHelp.org and how does it connect people to services?
Jimmy explained that MoHelp.org is an online directory of resources for Yavapai County, organized by Manzanita Outreach, Yavapai County Community Health Services, and the Yavapai County Free Library District. The site offers a range of support – from pet care and transportation to personal care services. Each listing includes phone numbers, web links, address and a brief description. You can even download a full list of resources to keep handy.
How can neighbors support your mission?
Rod, who also serves on the Warm Welcome Committee, encourages new residents to explore MoHelp.org and share it with anyone who might need support. Jeff added that by sharing this information with two friends, they’ll tell two friends, and we can create a strong network of help within the community.
