As the sun set on Legacy Day 2024, community spirit lingered in the breeze with cherished memories of an evening filled with celebrating all the things that make Jasper a special place to call home.
Building connections
Throughout the evening, groups of neighbors gathered around tables and firepits, sharing moments of laughter and friendship. Newcomers and long-time residents connected over a delicious meal prepared by the team at Superb Food Co.
Honoring Jasper Gems
Amidst the festivities, three outstanding Jasper neighbors were recognized as Jasper Gems for their contributions to serving their community. Jeff Swain, Madie Kunisch, and Lilian Mo received a special “GEM” hat they can wear proudly and serve as an inspiration to others.
Flashback rocks the stage
The energetic tunes from Flashback had adults and kids singing and dancing to hits spanning the decades. As the music continued, Wilkinson Courtyard transformed into a dance floor with all ages grooving to the rhythm. From classic rock to funk, this band continues to be a crowd favorite.
A legacy lives on
A moment of pride came with the unveiling of the Wilkinson Courtyard plaque. The Wilkinson name honors the history and significance of this cherished gathering space. It’s a reminder of the legacy we continue to build together as a community.
Capturing memories
One of the biggest hits was the photo booth housed in a charming vintage camper. Decked out with a variety of props including big hats, silly glasses, and funny signs, friends and families piled into the cozy camper to strike a pose. Each group walked away with a photo strip — and lots of laughter — as a cherished keepsake.
Honest feedback
In a post-event survey, we asked attendees to share their thoughts on Legacy Day. Thirty-nine attendees responded to the survey. Overall, 95% of survey respondents rated the event as excellent. These three event elements received top marks: live music, food, and socializing with neighbors.
Your Community Life team understands there is always room for improvement. Here are some things we’ll reflect on ahead of next year: food temperatures, location of lawn games, and ensuring fire pits are all operational.
