Jasper LEadership
Get inspired to actively contribute to creating a welcoming and connected community with purpose. Jasper Leadership is a meaningful way to get to know leaders in the community, build friendships, and a way to identify and further develop your own values as a person and leader.
What is Jasper Leadership?
The goal of Jasper Leadership is to deliver an enriching experience for community members to engage with one another. The program establishes a strong foundation for personal leadership, now and into the future.
Objectives
The primary objectives are to deepen your understanding of and appreciation for an engaged community, inspire greater participation, and to strengthen bonds among participants.
Session themes include:
- Understanding your personality type and how it impacts your leadership style
- Identifying roles and responsibilities of community stakeholders
- Learning how your personality, tendencies and skills impact how you contribute to teamwork
- Exploring leadership tools and frameworks from experts and learn how to utilize them in everyday practices
Accepted applicants will attend bimonthly (twice a month) meetings where we’ll explore leadership skills, have access to key partners and stakeholders, and hone in on what leadership looks like in your community.
Jasper Leadership is free to residents. Non-Jasper residents will be required to pay a $250 fee due prior to the start of class.
Who is an ideal candidate?
The Jasper Leadership program is for individuals who have an interest in:
- Deepening their understanding of themselves and growing personally as well as professionally
- Making an impact on their community through a service-learning project
- Developing tools and frameworks for leadership, relationships and decision making
- Gaining access and exposure to key partners and stakeholders in our community
Qualifications
- Resident of the town of Prescott Valley, Prescott or Chino Valley
- Someone who is passionate about and wants to contribute to building community
- Positive attitude and solution-oriented
- Can attend all core program sessions and complete induction goals – must be present at the August kick-off
- A predisposition for self-discovery and experience in leadership roles (i.e. family, work, civic, church)
- Likes to have fun!
Expectations
- Commit to complete the entire five-month program.
- Attend classes/activities.
- Successfully complete goals required to be inducted into Jasper Leadership.
- Budget an additional five or so hours per month for assignments, activities, and skill-building team projects.
- Actively participate in class discussions.
- Embrace your responsibility as a community steward.
- Ongoing involvement: your community is making an investment in you.
